In the summer of 2012, Megan interned with clothing designer Tracy Reese. Here she learned more about pattern making, sample garments, communicating with fabric vendors, and working with spec sheets among many other things. Her confidence and curiosity led her to ask questions and offer advice for anyone who seemed stumped on a project. Her favorite project during her internship was creating a dress design and pattern for Tracy’s plenty line. She loved the chance to work with designer Lady Soule, who involved her in all aspects of the design process and treated her as one of the gang, never going easy on her and never afraid to give Megan a new challenge. Megan was also given the chance to help out backstage at the Tracy Reese fashion show for Mercedes Benz fashion week. Here she dressed models, made sure all the garments were styled correctly, and was given the chance to observe all the aspects of a well organized fashion show.
